About Us
The CanadianSME Business Awards is designed to recognize and applaud the contribution that small business owners provide to Canada’s economy. Because the SME industry plays such a crucial role in Canada’s economy, we want to provide our support and recognition to the entrepreneurs who work hard in making their small businesses a success.

Canadian entrepreneurs are more than just business owners of successful companies. They are the innovators of our country. Through their flourishing businesses, they push our economy to the next level and are what our communities are structured on.

The CanadianSME Business Awards is an important date on our calendars because it marks the day that we celebrate and congratulate those who have made a positive contribution to our country’s economy.

The business awards represent excellence and accomplishment for entrepreneurs because it recognizes and validates all the hard work they have put into making a successful business. The awards also represent several opportunities for businesses, including increasing their credibility with investors and customers. When an entrepreneur takes home a business award, it solidifies their reputation – enhancing trustworthiness in the eyes of others. Receiving an award is often seen as a pivotal facet of a business’s marketing strategy, as it offers award winners a higher chance of competing in the marketplace by attracting more clients and employees. Whether they take home an award or are nominated, it can mean a great deal for a business owner who is working hard to get their business name out there. The CanadianSME Business Awards is a true honour that all business owners look forward to receiving.

SUUBI MUSIC

Suubi means ‘hope’ in Luganda. The Suubi music and dance troupe at Cambridge Secondary School. It is the brainchild of the school’s founder, Mrs. Kevin Kalule, and it has grown into a passion and purpose for our young Ugandan performers. It all started with Mrs. Kalule’s desire to find different ways for the youth that she was sheltering to open up and share their experiences, however traumatic so that they could heal and move on. She had tried a few remedies from her work as a psychiatric nurse, but they did not seem to help, so she thought of using African music and the sound of the drum as a starting point for story telling.
