The Best New Business Award

The Best New Business Award recognizes start-up companies that have shown significant promise through their growth and successful business strategy. Entrepreneurs will be asked to show how their new business has scaled since its launch, along with how well they are doing in comparison to other start-ups. Evidence of the success and a demonstration of a solid business plan for growth will be among the aspects that the judges will consider for the winner.

All nominees need to demonstrate success in the following aspects:

  • Evidence of market demand prior to launching
  • Capital raised
  • Ability to demonstrate success in their business
  • Impact of the business in its sector
  • Possibility of expansion and growth in the global market
  • Implementation of innovative thinking in their products and services
  • Outstanding market engagement and exception customer service
  • Projection of growth strategy and a strong vision for the company’s  future

Terms and Conditions​

  1. A business entering the CanadianSME National Business Awards 2019 must be a registered Canadian business in order to be eligible and must have demonstrable revenue growth year-on-year for at least the last two financial years.
  2. Applicants must have been in business for a minimum of two years.
  3. Businesses in the New Business category must be in operation for less than two years.
  4. Judges have the right to either create additional categories or delete categories, depending on entries received.
  5. If an entrant selects more than one category, judges have the right to determine the most applicable category without notification or consultation.
  6. The decision of the judges is final, and no changes are made to awards after the judging is complete.
  7. Unsuccessful and successful finalists will be notified in the mail.
  8. Once entries have been received, information cannot be changed or added.
  9. The Young Entrepreneur must be 30 years of age and under to be eligible.
  10. In case of any information found to be hidden, falsified or incorrect in any manner, the applicant shall be automatically disqualified, with no explanation whatsoever.
  11. By entering the CanadianSME National Business Awards 2019, applicants agree to receive relevant communications from CanadianSME.
  12. We reserve the right to disqualify entries if the answers to the questions are incomplete or irrelevant.
  13. CanadianSME National Business Awards reserves the right to alter or change these terms and conditions at any time.
  14. Your entry must be submitted by December 10, 2019.
